The Deutsch Europäisches Forum für Urbane Sicherheit e.V. (DEFUS) [German-European Forum for Urban Security] is the German Forum in the European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS). It provides the possibility for an exchange and cooperation of the various actors in the field of safety work (mayors, chairmen/women of prevention committees, heads of order and safety departments et al.).
The forum aims at contributing to the improvement of public security in cities and municipalities, especially with respect to local crime prevention, crime fighting and traffic security. Moreover, the civil sense of security should thereby be enhanced.

Aarhus declaration "European cities against radicalisation leading to violent extremism": About a hundred mayors, local elected officials and local representatives of 22 European countries adopted a common declaration at the end of the international conference for the prevention of radicalisation leading to violent extremism, organised by Efus and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, on 18 November 2015, in Aarhus.
